Exhibition from the reception date SEPTEMBER 24th – NOVEMBER 30st at JEWELL HOUSE Gallery Space.

At JEWELL HOUSE, we are constantly exploring how art can become a living experience, something that is not only seen, but felt in the body, in time, and in breath.

Nature is always moving.

Growth is never perfectly symmetrical.

And sometimes, what we remove makes room for what remains.

We are honored to present “The Space Between” — A Solo Exhibition by JESSY

An Exploration of Nature, Rhythm, and the Art of Slowing Down

“What we release creates space for what is meant to remain.”

At JEWELL HOUSE, we believe that beauty is not only something we see, it is something we feel, experience, and return to.

Nature is constantly moving through cycles of growth and transformation. A leaf unfolds through a sequence of small movements. A flower opens petal by petal. Branches reach outward, divide, break apart, and reconnect.

Within these seemingly simple forms exists a deeper rhythm, one that reminds us to slow down, observe, and be present.

The Space Between brings together a collection of paper-cutting works inspired by natural forms, organic structures, and the quiet rhythms that exist all around us. Rather than depicting nature literally, the works explore its essential qualities: balance and asymmetry, repetition and variation, growth and decline, density and openness.

At the heart of the exhibition is the practice of paper-cutting, a process of both creation and release.

Working with a single sheet of paper, the artist cuts away, removes, and reveals. Each opening creates space. What was once a solid surface gradually becomes lighter, more connected, and alive with movement. The work begins to exist in the relationship between what remains and what has been let go.

This process feels deeply connected to the philosophy of JEWELL HOUSE.

In a world that often asks us to add more, do more, and move faster, there is also beauty in creating space.

Space to breathe.
Space to rest.
Space to transform.

The slow and intentional nature of paper-cutting becomes a meditative act, one that requires patience, presence, and care. Each cut is a small decision. Each opening allows the surrounding form to breathe.

Presented within JEWELL HOUSE, a space where beauty, wellness, art, and community come together, The Space Between invites us to consider well-being as a practice of making room, not always for something new, but for ourselves.

Space to pause.
Space to breathe.
Space to observe.
Space to reconnect.

Amid the constant rhythm of New York City, this exhibition offers a moment of stillness. Through paper, pattern, nature, and transformation, we are invited to slow down and notice the beauty that emerges when we allow things to unfold naturally.

Because sometimes, what we remove makes room for what matters most.

Welcome to the space between.
